Charlie and Alex
Charlie and Alex wanted a relaxed woodland wedding so they chose the stunning Woods at Oakley. Not only is it beautiful but the owners are just amazing. They really care about all their couples and they care about the woodland. They were originally told to fell most of the trees due to ash dieback but instead they decided to try to conserve the ancient woodland. This is not an easy or cheap job but they use the income from weddings to support their land management efforts in a bid to preserve this wonderful place. They also have a gorgeous Dobermann called Samson so of course I was going to love these guys.
Charlie and Alex wanted to make this day personal, it was all about them as a couple. And boy, what a couple they are. They have had some really tough times but everytime they’ve been tested they’ve come back stronger. They are the perfect match for each other in every way. Charlie does the tough boss levels when gaming while Alex makes sure Charlie is loved fully through her tough times. When one is having difficulties the other steps in…..and it’s beautiful.
This was all touched on during the skillfully crafted ceremony from celebrant Chloe Green. Wow was she good. She really summed them up and got everyone laughing and crying. There were little touches like a Mr and Mrs quiz with paddles. Oh and of course Charlie and Alex had to gamify their wedding……there was a quest to find the wedding rings. That was how they chose their ring bearer…..whoever found their rings first!! It was a mad dash but absolutely brilliant!
Following the heartfelt ceremony the plan was just to relax, drink the delicious wine Charlie’s parents had brought over from their favourite vineyard in France and play games. Unfortunately the weather decided to chuck a lot of water at us throughout the day BUT there glorious moments when the rain stopped and the sun came out were wonderful…..plus is there anything more calming and romantic than the sound of rain splashing on the leaves and the smell of the earth.
I loved every minute of their wonderful day and despite them saying the photography was the bit they were most worried about they absolutely smashed it!
